PREVENT POTENTIAL INJURY AND LITIGATION
The patented Cuffbar will reinvent conventional hand restraints by use of a telescoping bar, instead of standard links or rigid hinges.
The Cuffbar allows easier application and manipulation due to rotating standard handcuffs containing the original attached swivel, surrounded by a metal collar preventing the swivel and cuff from being damaged from applied force and allowing the Cuffbar to be used as a compliance tool by moving the bar in a downward motion against the top of the wrist or in an upward motion against the top of the forearm.
The design of the Cuffbar restricts the hands on a single axis, severely limiting the access to the handcuffs themselves and prevents entanglement of an officer’s hands or arms leading to a loss of balance or injury to an officer.
The telescoping bar can be used closed or expanded with two detents allowing for a total of three positions for broader shoulders or larger body types preventing potential injury and litigation.
The bar itself is knurled to ensure a firm grip in the presence of rain, body fluids, etc., and is used for stability and control of the subject.
Carried vertically on the duty belt, the Cuffbar is the same width as a standard handcuff holster, utilizes the area above and below the beltline, and does not interfere with sitting.
The Cuffbar is the latest product prototype, an integral component of the patented Cuffbar Restraint System, replacing traditional chained restraint systems, for the safe and humane transport of high-risk prisoners.
